Narrative poem

The one where you read each other’s mind
Understand each other’s laughter without saying one word
The one you sneak hugs from and realize you like what you feel
The snap of realization when you fight the unity of each other’s arms
The friend you are in between friend zone
The barrier of doing what your heart shouts
“I wish my boyfriend was like you”
The string is finally broken yet you feel no sorrow but relief
And there you are.
Your smile fills me up, the butterflies scatter as I explain what happened.
Your comfort makes me forget what was lost or why it ever mattered
My heart begins to raise as soon as the talking fades and your closeness mesmerizes me
Laying my head on your shoulder feeling completely secure
All that was held back has no more reason to be held
It’s just us two…
Everything slows down
I raise my head towards your lips
Moving closer and closer towards one another
Our lips are just about to touch but they are still
 Just kiss me!
Our lips are too close not to touch
I steal a kiss, soft; slow as the lyrics of the song playing slow down to the rhythm of the kiss
Reality hit when a child screamed “look!”
We laughed and remembered that our friend Pako was in the back seat!
The moment that arose from a hangout of eating MC Donald’s by Kanoon is what marked the beginning of another beautiful adventure.
